Former Indian spinner Maninder Singh recently revealed that ten years ago, he predicted that Shreyas Iyer would one day lead the Indian cricket team in all formats. Singh’s comments came after Team India’s triumphant 3-0 victory in a T20I series against Zimbabwe, with Iyer at the helm.

Maninder Singh’s Bold Prediction Comes to Fruition

After witnessing Team India’s successful T20I series under Iyer’s captaincy, Maninder Singh reflected on his foresight from the past. Maninder Singh holds a special regard for Shreyas Iyer, emphasizing his unique talent and leadership potential. The former cricketer admires Iyer’s playing style and asserts that he always envisioned Iyer as a future captain. While Shubman Gill currently leads India in Tests and ODIs, Iyer has taken the reins in T20Is.
