Harbhajan Singh racially abuses Jofra Archer!! IPL ban incoming

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh stirred controversy during the second match IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad. The former offspinner was heard using racist remarks against RR fast bowler Jofra Archer during the game. Harbhajan Singh is a part of the commentary panel of the Indian Premier League. During his stint, he compared Archer with a “black taxi’. His words didn’t go unnoticed and the social media was quick to pounce on it. The fans were unhappy with this behavior and demanded an apology from Harbhajan. The users even asked the broadcaster to take strict action against the former CSK spinner and remove him from the panel for the rest of the season. Harbhajan Singh’s racist comments during commentary During the 18th over of the first innings of the match when SRH was batting, Harbhajan Singh made this racist comment. Jofra Archer was bowling the over while Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen were at the crease for Sunrisers. Archer was having a bad day as he was going for plenty of runs. With the pitch being absolutely flat, both Kishan and Klaasen were going hard at the ball. During this moment, Harbhajan compared Jofra Archer with London’s Black Taxi. “London me kaali taxi ka meter tez bhaagta hai, Aur yaha pe (Jofra) Archer sahab ka meter bhi tez bhaaga hai (Like the meter of London’s black taxis, Archer’s meter has also been on the higher side),” Harbhajan said on air. It was an unexpected comment from a senior commentator who has been at this role for several years. After announcing his retirement in 2021, he has been a constant face among the commentators in the matches involving India and the IPL. Fans slam Harbhajan Singh The fans were quick to notice this blunder and slammed Harbhajan for his racist thinking. They even demanded his suspension for the rest of the IPL from Star Sports.
